FOUNDERS

Dr. Charles Carpenter

Charles Carpenter is one of the co-founders and President of Saving Sparrows. He has spent over 16 years in law enforcement, spending several years protecting some of the most important leaders in the world. He spent six years in the Marine Corps as a TOW Gunner, where he deployed to Iraq in 2005. He has over 20 years of ministry experience, where he is an ordained deacon and minister at My Church in Woodstock, Virginia.

He is a three-time Liberty University graduate, where he was awarded a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology-Life Coaching with a minor in Autism (16′), a Master’s degree in Teaching (17′), and a Doctoral degree in Christian Leadership- Ministry Leadership (23′).

In 2015, Charles and faculty and students from Liberty University traveled to Athens, Greece to learn how to be effective at combatting human trafficking. Here, Charles met with human trafficking victims, gained knowledgeable hands-on experience, and received training on caring for human trafficking survivors. This eye-opening experience exposed Charles to the harsh reality that modern-day slavery was happening everywhere. This led him to want to spend the rest of his life combatting human trafficking, which ushered in the creation of Saving Sparrows in 2019.

In the completion of his dissertation, Charles focused his dissertation on encouraging individuals to get involved in political matters for the purpose of advocating and passing legislation that protects human trafficking victims. This includes creating laws focused on treating human trafficking victims more like victims, perpetrators like criminals, and having lengthier sentences for those buying or selling them. You can schedule Charles to speak at your school, rotary, church, business, or other organization wanting to hear his message on the steps he believes are needed to end human trafficking.

Brandi Carpenter

Brandi Carpenter was born in Texas but spent her childhood in Kentucky, Washington, Texas, and Missouri. This allowed Brandi to experience many different cultural aspects from different areas of the United States. Although she had a rough childhood, Brandi’s early years helped her understand the pressures families are faced with that leave many susceptible to being trafficked. Being brought up by a struggling single mother, Brandi learned firsthand what it takes to survive poverty-stricken circumstances.

Despite all of the struggles endured, Brandi had a stellar example of what lengths a mother would go to provide for her children. Years later, she is now a homeschool mother to six beautiful children. Brandi is one of the co-founders of Saving Sparrows, where she serves as Director of Communications and Education. Through Brandi’s experience as a survivor of childhood sexual abuse, she has developed a deepening passion for protecting and preventing the exploitation of children.

Brandi’s desire to carry out the great commission is demonstrated by her involvement in the many ministries, including the family workshop ministry she and her husband run, her participation in women’s ministry, and leading a local homeschool cooperative for her community. Dubbed by her close friends as the “Playground Evangelist,” she has earned a reputation for preaching the gospel and encouraging anyone she comes in contact with within the midst of the mundane in and outs of everyday life.

Having six children is often a playground where she reaches out to strangers and welcomes them as new friends. However, the playground is not the only place she preaches. She is a singer and evangelist, who is equipped to speak in various environments. When booking Saving Sparrows to speak at your event, it will be her face you will see bringing forth essential truths about our organization’s vision and mission. To schedule her, please contact us.
